How the Gen-Tracker System works
The Gen-Tracker panel, located near the transfer switch, monitors your generator's operation. When the generator starts, stops, or fails to start when needed, the monitoring system sends a signal to the Gen-Tracker data center using an existing phone line, Internet connection, or GSM cellular service. The data center processes the signal, updating your web page and sending out appropriate notifications via e-mail and text messaging.
Generators are designed to perform a self test, usually every 7 or 14 days. The Gen-Tracker sends out an alert if your generator fails its regular self test.
How do I know my generator is working?
When the generator performs its self-test, the Gen-Tracker verifies the generator's operation. You can also view your generator activity on-line at any time. If your generator should fail, notifications will be sent per customer instructions.
Is there any warranty on the monitoring service?
Yes. The Gen-Tracker is warranted for 3 years on all parts, excluding the backup battery. Labor is not included.
Can I terminate my monitoring agreement?
Yes, you can terminate at the renewal date.
Will notifications be sent if the generator fails during an outage?
Yes. The Gen-Tracker has a back-up battery which will provide five hours of service to make sure the information is transmitted.
How can I get a Gen-Tracker?
